We’ve Been Showing Up. Now We Need Your Help to Keep Going.

The #WWHHW Team

Dear Community,

For the past three years, Well, What Had Happened Was has existed as more than a website—it’s been a trusted resource, a community healing space, and a culturally rooted mental health platform created specifically for those who are too often left out of the conversation.

We’ve shown up—in schools, community centers, housing programs, college campuses, and digital spaces—providing trauma-informed tools, relatable education, and emotional care for survivors, students, system-impacted families, and everyday people navigating complex realities.

We’ve done all of this with integrity. Often quietly. Often for free.

But as demand grows, so does the need to sustain and expand.

Over the last 3 years, WWHHW has:

  • Created free trauma resources, group materials, and emotional literacy tools

  • Offered culturally competent care through storytelling and clinical insight

  • Partnered with re-entry programs, HBCUs, nonprofits, and fellow community builders

  • Supported survivors and students with healing-centered resources and events

  • Maintained a platform that centers accessibility, dignity, and truth

All of this has been self-funded or supported through in-kind efforts.

To continue serving our people at the level they deserve, we need your support. We are currently raising funds to:

  • Expand our digital + print resource library for students, survivors, and educators

  • Distribute self-care kits and healing tools to individuals and organizations in need

  • Build a sustainable operating fund to support programming, community events, and low-cost access

  • Maintain and grow the WWHHW website as a hub for relevant, relatable, and research-backed healing tools

If the work of Well, What Had Happened Was has ever helped you feel seen, affirmed, or resourced—we’re asking you to give what you can. Your contribution directly supports:

  • The continuation of free offerings

  • The creation of culturally grounded care materials

  • The sustainability of a grassroots platform built by and for the community

We also welcome recurring donors, community partners, and sponsorships.

Whether it’s a classroom, nonprofit, campaign, or healing space—we remain available for:

  • Guest facilitation + workshops

  • Resource partnerships

  • Storytelling and speaking engagements

  • Brand or mission-aligned collaborations

We’re committed to continuing this work—with care, with culture, and with your help.

Healing is a collective act. Share this with a friend, ally, or org who believes in culturally competent care.
